SciFi on the HiFi  is the high-concept project from James Mandell, veteran recording artist, best known for singing the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles classic TV theme song.

Classically educated, he embraced rock and pop to become a jingle session singer for the likes of United Airlines and Budweiser beer and a Paramount and Elektra/Asylum solo artist.

One night at a lunar landing conspiracy campfire sing-along…  he flashed on the concept of combining sci-fi and songwriting, adding his fascination for things collectively cosmic.  The resulting double-album project combines a vintage vibe with a sophisticated retro style.  Add a dollop of tounge-in-cheek and you’ve got a a tasty shake that’ll  put a rocket in your socket. 

From rock to rap, country to EDM, SciFi on the HiFi celebrates ray gun heroes, interplanetary relationships, time travel and the quirks and quandries of human behavior in a history of the beyond.  Making it a star-bound concept of, well, galactic magnitude.
